All of this biological evidence suggests that the human body was meant to consume a diet of mostly fruits and vegetables.

And that’s not all. The human digestive system often processes animal flesh poorly, especially red meat in large quantities. It may remain in the intestines undigested and fermenting for a long, long time. People who eat large amounts of red meat often have problems with constipation.

When the digestive system can’t eliminate waste in a timely manner, toxins build up in the body and slowly poison it. Regular bowel movements several times daily are vital to your health. If you are not having a bowel movement at least twice a day, you are not healthy and toxins are accumulating in your body. Over time, they will wreak havoc in your system, in ways beyond just the physical. The poison buildup will eventually contribute to both physical and mental illnesses, as well as emotional problems such as depression.

Imagine a 30-year-old toilet that only gets flushed a couple of times a week. Imagine the disgusting filth and stench of the accumulated waste. After even just a day of that accumulated waste, the stench will move beyond the bathroom and invade the entire house. Soon neighbors can smell it outside. That’s a good metaphor for the digestive tract that is not regular. That accumulated filth in your intestines will begin to poison the other organs of the body and it won’t be long before it will affect those around you as well. The easiest way to create regularity into your digestive system is by eating fresh fruits and vegetables, which contain high levels of both water and fiber, and cutting down on flesh meats.

The Environmental Impact of Eating Meat

I’ve come across some wild claims regarding the negative environmental impact of farming animals. I try my best to remain practical in all matters, and I avoid buying too much into the hype and hysteria surrounding these issues. I don’t know how many of those claims are true, but here is one that I found interesting and plausible.
