People who meditate possess more energy, sleep better, and have less stress and tension in their life. Many find it easier to reduce alcohol and drug use, stop smoking, and let go of other unhealthy habits. Research also shows that they have lower medical costs and fewer doctor visits, and require less hospitalization.
I personally meditate for about 30 minutes in the morning and at night using a meditation practice called kriya yoga. If you want more information on kriya yoga, you can contact one of the following organizations:
In 2002 I read the books Rich Dad Poor Dad and Retire Young, Retire Rich by Robert Kiosaki. I had read hundreds of books on personal development and investing previously, but something in his presentation really resonated with me and I took massive action. I purchased six homes and a business over the next 18 months while maintaining my career as information technology director for a major media company. The resulting stress—from having to deal with my job as well as tenants, repairs, the business, and 13 new employees—overwhelmed me.
Although I did my best to hide it, it started to manifest itself in my body. One symptom was horrible night sweats. I’d wake up in the middle of every single night soaking wet, perspiring as if I had been on a 10-mile run. When I started to develop a twitch on the side of my face, I knew I had to do something.
