The Story of the Genie and the Curly Hair
Once upon a time there was a man who wanted to possess a powerful genie that would grant him all of his wishes. The man wandered far and wide searching for a way to summon such a spirit to do his bidding. Eventually, he came across a mystic who knew the magic that could manifest beings from the other side.
After studying at the feet of this mystic for many years, the man eventually perfected the technique which would let him bring a genie forth into the physical realm. The mystic warned his student that once he called the genie into this world, he had a responsibility to keep the spirit busy, for otherwise it would surely devour the man. The man thought that this would be easy and so using the magic, he summoned the genie.
“O master,” said the genie upon appearing, “what would you have me to do?”
“Build for me a palace of the finest materials and with the most intricate architecture as has ever been built upon this earth,” instructed the man.
“Your wish is my command,” said the genie, leaving to do his master’s bidding, only to return in a very short while.
“Turn around, O master,” said the genie smiling, “and gaze upon the beautiful palace I have created for you.”
The man saw a building more splendid and radiant than any he could have imagined. Yet he was surprised at how quickly the genie had accomplished the task.
